Our Story

Who we are . . .

The River of Life Fellowship is a group of believers in rural, southeastern Colorado who love Jesus Christ and want to do everything for the sake of His Gospel.  Non-denominational by category but Bible-centric, Christ-glorifying, cross-loving and joy-seeking in practice.
Our preaching is exegetical at its core, with our aim being to know what God wants to say to us through His Word.
And we love to sing! Our music is up-beat and up-front with an occasional throwback to our old gospel hymn roots.  Heart over style, but louder rather than softer - we're young and we're old and we're for sure not the only game in town . . . but we are running hard after Jesus.  Soli Deo Gloria!

How it all started...

The River of Life Fellowship was started by a small group of believers who felt a need to build a contemporary, caring ministry in Ordway.  The first service was held on Dec. 1, 1996 with 25 people present.  The current building at 411 E. 9th street was built and housed its first service on May 22, 2005.

Expanding the vision...

In the fall of 2018, with a significant number of our congregation coming from La Junta and further east, God began moving in the hearts of some of our membership to consider a second meeting location in that area.   Regular services began being held there as of January 19, 2020 on the Otero College campus.

Come be a part of our story...

Join us every Sunday as we gather to worship together at 9:00 am in Ordway or 11:00 am in  La Junta.
